NYIT Nursing Students Do Community Nursing Rotation at Addabbo

Under the leadership of Mercy Joseph, PhD, MSN, ANP-C, RN, Assistant Professor of Nursing at the School of Health Professionals, Department of Nursing, New York Institute of Technology and Le-Nise Watson-Hudson, MSN, RN, Director of Nursing at the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, each nursing student developed and presented a comprehensive overview of several serious health issues to a waiting room filled with Addabbo patients recently.

The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center welcomes the NYIT nursing students and assists them in developing quality nursing skills throughout the year. Clinical experience is an integral part of nursing education as the nursing students learn from real-time experiences as well as from Addabbo’s experienced professional nurses. “This clinical rotation is a critical addition to their community nursing skills”, explains Dr. Joseph. “We are very pleased to have such a wonderful ongoing relationship with the Addabbo Family Health Center.”

“There is no substitute for practical experience”, says Le-Nise Hudson- Watson, MSN, RN, Addabbo’s Director of Nursing. “We are always delighted to be able to contribute to the educational experience and future nursing excellence of these bright and talented nursing students.”
