JoAnn Perou, Chief Operating Officer at Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, Inc., has more than 14 years of health service experience and several professional distinctions in the public health arena. Ms. Perou served as the special assistant to the chief of staff at the 1199 Service Employees International UnionBenefits and Pension Fund as well as Project Administrator for HIV/AIDS care at the National Quality Center, a quality improvement think tank funded by the Ryan White Care Act. She was program manager at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), where she managed hospital and private practice contracts, provider engagement, the internal review board and clinical staff. She also was the designated CUMC Hospital Liaison in the National Children’s Study, an environmental health exposure investigation.
While at NYC Health + Hospitals, Ms. Perou gained extensive experience in federal grant submissions and research program development while managing operational objectives. She joined the senior management at Addabbo as the agency’s first Chief of Staff in 2018.
Ms. Perou is a visionary, great facilitator and critical thinker who creates excellence-achieving initiatives for the senior management team and truly makes a positive difference in productivity and goal achievement. She is a vocal advocate for equitable access to healthcare for underserved communities and promotion of health initiatives with a comprehensive focus on quality improvement of health services delivery and innovation.
She continues her educational pursuits as a doctoral student in Public Health Policy at Walden University.
