On Saturday, August 10th, the Joseph P Addabbo Family Health Center hosted its Fifth Annual Back-to-School Health Fair. The health fair attracted hundreds of families. Over 850 backpacks and packages of school supplies were distributed to the children and teens of the Rockaway community.
Families visited over 40 vendors who distributed health and educational materials, goodie bags and additional school supplies. Participants received free dental and blood pressure screening, Hep C and HIV/ AIDS testing, WIC enrollment etc. The children enjoyed themselves at the Bouncy House, got their faces painted and many made appointments for back to school checkups.
CEO Dr. Marjorie Hill stated, “How wonderful to see so many excited children and their parents focusing on health. Our Back to School Family Health Fair is one of our signature annual events and as always, the Addabbo staff goes above and beyond in promoting health and community wellness. It is an event truly enjoyed!”
