The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center welcomes Kathleen Bernock, Family Nurse Practitioner, to its staff.
Ms. Bernock graduated from the University of San Francisco and attained her Master of Science, Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees at Columbia University School of Nursing. Her sub-specialty is HIV/AIDS and joins our staff in that capacity. Her prior experience includes the position of Medical Scientist at Gilead Sciences, Inc., Family Nurse Practitioner at the Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center, Associate Clinical Director at Wellness as well as serving as aa Registered Nurse as the Institute for Family Health/Care for the Homeless.
Ms. Bernock’s Certifications include FNP Certification, ANCC, DEA Registration, AAHIVM Certification, AACRN Certification, Buprenorphine Waiver, NYS Medicaid Hepatitis C Experienced Provider. She is also proficient in medical Spanish.
Ms. Bernock is an accomplished speaker in the field of HIV and sexual health related topics and has been a consultant on HV Testing and Prevention (PrEP/PEP) for Woodhull Hospital’s Primary Care Department. She is currently the President of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care NY/NJ. She is also published: Who to Screen? Education and tools for addressing the rising prevalence of synthetic cannabinoid use.
Ms. Bernock joins Addabbo as a primary care clinician as well as a specialist in both HIV and viral hepatitis treatment and prevention. “I am excited about being a part of a team that is so passionate about providing patient-centered care while improving public health,” says Bernock. “I am truly looking forward to working with them to meet the needs of the communities served by the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center.”
