Jimmy Stillwell, Sr.

Jimmy Stillwell began his career at the Addabbo Family Health Center in 2004 working in the Family Support Program. In 2004. Addabbo did a great deal of work in public schools facilitating workshops aimed at supporting and educating parents about the multi-purposed services offered by Addabbo and Jimmy played a big role in this effort.

He received his Associate of Science degree from Mercy College in 2002 where he majored in Substance Abuse Counseling and his Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science in 2004, Magna Cum Laude. He received his Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College.

Although employed as a Case Manager serving the Rockaways, Mr. Stillwell has been a resident of the Rockaways since before 9/11 and Super Storm Sandy. As a resident and employee, he believes these unfortunate events changed the family dynamics in the Rockaways and gave the Addabbo’s Family Support Program an enhanced urgency to counsel the children and parents in mental health.

His goals today are to serve, motivate, and help other people on their journey from emotional poverty to wholeness, security and their truest self. He is passionate about healthy living and about promoting it to others. As a community health worker, he fulfills his desire to help others by enriching and fortifying people’s self-knowledge so that they can overcome any difficulties they face.

Mr. Stillwell is currently the Director of The Samaritan Hands Outreach Center in Far Rockaway, NY and the Co-Founder of The Rockaway Organized Coalition for Youth in connection with The Action Center for Education and Community Development, Inc., in Far Rockaway. He has also been instrumental in creating a Fatherhood Program, a Women’s Outreach Group and a Young Women’s Group which provide support and guidance for social issues of self-esteem, relationships, educational preparation and parental skills.
