Combining her original passion for becoming a surgeon with her passion for women’s health and delivering babies, Dr. Mondesir has long advocated for women who lack access to comprehensive medical care. She currently serves as the Director of OB/GYN at Addabbo.
As part of her residency program at Winthrop Hospital in Long Island and shortly after that, she took part in two overseas medical missions: one in Kenya and a second in Guatemala led by Faith in Practice. Dr. Mondesir found these medical missions inspirational as she worked to provide healthcare to the people of Guatemala, the majority of whom have little to no access to healthcare. Her experiences on these medical missions abroad helped to shape her dedication to caring for people in underserved communities.
“Family planning and offering women options available to them is so important to women from adolescents on as is the ability to speak openly and honestly with a physician who is genuinely concerned about their welfare,” says Dr. Mondesir. “I am very pleased to be a part of the comprehensive health services available to women at Addabbo as a part of leadership and as a provider.”
