The Health Center that Puts the Community's Needs First!
Addabbo is the Largest Federally Qualified Health Center in Queens. Research is documenting this fact. What follows are major points concerning quality of primary care and Federally Qualified Health Centers and the research which documents it:
Community health centers are better at reaching racial and ethnic minorities and Medicaid and uninsured patients than are hospital outpatient departments or physician offices.
Community health centers provide superior preventive and screening services. For example, women receiving care at health centers are more likely to receive up-to-date on PAP smears, mammograms, and clinical breast examinations than are low-income women in the general population.
Community health centers reduce racial disparities in health care outcomes. For example, the incidence of low birth weight infants among African American women who use health centers is 24 percent lower than their national rate.
